エレナ・N・ボドナー氏は、その昔、ソ連のチェルノブイリ原子力発電所での大事故において被害者っ救済に奔走した経験をもつ。そのときの経験が彼に閃きをもたらした（？）。「ブラジャーのカップとマスクは形状が似ているな～」と。
彼が本当にブラジャーとマスクの形状を気にしたかどうかはともかく、ブラジャーの2つのカップをガスマスクとして使用できる粒子捕集効率の高いHEPAフィルターでつくることにした。その結果、緊急時には2つのガスマスクが付いたファッショナブルなブラジャーが完成である。
一つのブラジャーで、着用していた女性だけでなく、運のよい男性（別に女性でいいのだが・・・）一人も助かるかもしれない。
